Day 1 - Lima
International flight arrival to Lima. Private airport transfer to your hotel with hotel lobby welcome greeting, Peru orientation, and welcome gift from Dargui Tours' travel adviser (Welcome may be following morning depending on time of arrival). Overnight stay.
Day 2 - Get to Know Lima (optional day)
After included hotel breakfast, morning or afternoon half-day tour (4 to 5 hours).. Tour is an optional Lima City Tour or Peruvian Cuisine Gastronomic Tour.
Lima City Tour will showcase the mixture of Spanish colonial sites near Downtown Lima along with the modern design of Miraflores and San Isidro. The Gastronomic Tour will introduce you to the staples of Peruvian Cuisine throughout several districts of the city. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 - Arrival to Trujillo & Visits to Moche and Chimu Cultural Sites
Early morning transfer to Lima Airport and flight to Trujillo (comfort bus services also available). Reception and transfer to your hotel in Trujillo or Huanchaco. After getting settled into your guest room, we'll begin by visiting the Huaca de la Luna a pyramid made by the Moche culture nearly 2,000 years ago. You'll see a host of mural paintings that represent their main deity known as the Decapitator and will visit the monument and its on-site museum filled with artifacts. You'll also get the view of the adjacent Huaca del Sol, a site just beginning to be explored by archaeologists.
We'll then head to the beach town of Huanchaco, where fishermen have used reed boats since pre-Inca times. After a beachside lunch, we will visit the well-preserved Chan Chan city the capital of the Chimú dynasty who were conquered by the Incas.. On our way back to Trujillo, we'll stop at a few additional important archaeological sites. Overnight stay in Trujillo
Day 4 - Huaca el Brujo, Lady of Cao & Transfer to Chiclayo
After breakfast at your hotel, we'll drive north to the Huaca el Brujo. This adobe pyramid was used by different cultures during the Moche period and is the site where the Lady of Cao lived, the first female emperor of Peru. Vivid paintings are still intact and the site museum contains impressively well-preserved artifacts. We'll then begin the 3-hour journey to Chiclayo with lunch on the way. You'll arrive at your hotel early evening after several stops at points of interest. Overnight stay in Chiclayo
Day 5 - Museum Tumbes Reales & Visit to Huaca Rajada
After breakfast at your hotel, we'll begin the day by visiting the archaeological site of Túcume. There are 26 pyramids here, which were built by the Lambayeque culture. Following is the truly special Tumbas Reales museum that guards the tomb of the Lord of Sipán, the most important archaeological discovery in Latin America in the last 30 years.
We'll have lunch in Lambayeque in the afternoon and will then visit the site of Huaca Rajada,,ruins of the Moche cultura, where lie the remains of a Mochica leader discovered in 1987. Overnight stay in Chiclayo.
