Arrival to Lima
International flight arrival to Lima. Private airport transfer to your hotel with hotel lobby welcome greeting, Peru orientation, and welcome gift from Dargui Tours' travel adviser (Welcome may be following morning depending on time of arrival). Overnight stay.
Day 1 - Daytime Tastes of Lima Gastronomic Tour & Amazonian Food Tour
After optional light breakfast at your hotel, reception mid-morning with first visit to a local roastery that features hand-picked coffee beans daily,for an organic Peruvian coffee. The next stop will be to Barranco, the Bohemian district of Lima, that is home to many of the city's artists. Enjoy an smoothie made from the lucuma fruit a Barranco cafe. We'll then head to a traditional market in San Isidro to try a variety of fruits and local products and also to see the wide variety of differences on the shelves in Peru.. We continue to the city’s top seafood restaurants to introduce you to the Lima classics - Ceviche and the Pisco Sour. Our final stop is for lunch at the archaeological site la Huaca Pucllana. .Indulge in a variety of gourmet Peruvian dishes as well as four different desserts and another cocktail. Return transfer to your hotel for afternoon rest.
After relaxation, early evening pickup at your hotel for transport to an Amazonian restaurant in Lima with full interpretive guide of the wide variety of tastes and differences in the Peruvian jungle. You will get exposure to more exotic fruits and vegetables raised in the Amazon and some complex spices used in main dishes, including different takes on a classic Lima ceviche. Of course, we'll begin the whole evening with a special Amazonian cocktail demonstration. Return to your hotel for overnight.
Day 2 - Participatory Foodie Tour & Dinner
After optional light breakfast at your hotel, reception mid-morning for a true foodie experience. We've now tasted a wide variety of flavors, but today we'll be selecting our ingredients and getting our hands dirty in making our own dishes in a participatory cooking class setting. We'll start with a visit to a market led by our chef to select some ingredients we'll be using later. Afterwords we'll arrive to a outdoor kitchen for full hands-on cooking class to make everything from a unique causa to aji de gallina to a ceviche. We'll also be sampling some cocktail recipes including a popular Lima cocktail the Chilcano. After full class, we'll indulge in our creations and have a mid-day transfer back to your hotel.
After late afternoon relaxation, you'll have the option for dinner on own a number of our favorite Lima restaurants with private transfer. We recommend a late afternoon transfer to enjoy time learning about Pre-Columbian history at the Museo Larco, which has an impressive collection of Inca and pre-Inca artifacts. You'll be able to tour the collection on own or with interpretative guide. To cap the evening, enjoy a Museo Larco's restaurant, a true gem set in their internal gardens. Private transfer back to your hotel and end of services.
