Iquitos Escape - Jungle Lodge in Peru

Day 1 - Lima
International flight arrival to Lima. Private airport transfer to your hotel with hotel lobby welcome greeting, Peru orientation, and welcome gift from Dargui Tours' travel adviser (Welcome may be following morning depending on time of arrival). Overnight stay.
Day 2 - Get to Know Lima (optional day)
After included hotel breakfast, morning or afternoon half-day tour (4 to 5 hours).. Tour is an optional Lima City Tour or Peruvian Cuisine Gastronomic Tour.
Lima City Tour will showcase the mixture of Spanish colonial sites near Downtown Lima along with the modern design of Miraflores and San Isidro. The Gastronomic Tour will introduce you to the staples of Peruvian Cuisine throughout several districts of the city. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 - Arrival to Iquitos & Transfer to lodge in Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
After included hotel breakfast, transfer to airport and arrival to Iquitos with reception and transfer to town of Nauta. Boat transfer via river skiff to jungle lodge in Samiria. Greeting by staff with a delicious regional fruit juice before arrival to your guest room.
After lunch, guided navigation to the Ucamara where we'll have the opportunity to witness the source of the Amazon River. The Ucamara, where the Ucayali and Marañon Rivers join to form the mighty Amazon, you'll hear more from your guide about the headwaters and importance of the Amazon. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Amazon Sunrise & Visit with Amazonian Community
Early morning wake-up to have the best opportunity for quality birdwatching to spot some of the nearly 560 species that live in this region and to enjoy the Kapok sunrise. We will be able to spot a variety of neon-brilliant birds and possibly a number of hawks and herons. We'll then partake in some breakfast in the Amazon jungle. After early morning birdwatching, we will visit a local indigenous community who will show us a few jungle cultural customs, dress, and a variety of handicrafts.
After lunch at the lodge, we will go fishing on board our skiffs in Shiriyacu for some catch and release fishing. Your guides will teach you more about the lively biodiversity in the waters below. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Optional evening activity of spotting tarantulas and caimans.
Day 4 - Dolphin Observation and Excursion into the Jungle
After breakfast, in the morning we will take a river journey to see the freshwater gray and pink dolphins of the Amazon. These dolphins live throughout Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Brasil but are classifed as vulnerable due to dams and habitat encroachment.
After lunch we will take an excursion into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. known for its rich flora, fauna, and wildlife. During this guided hike, you will learn more about trees, flowers and Amazonian insects and will finish with the activity of artisanal piranha fishing. Before dinner, we will hear from our naturalist guides about their experiences in the Peruvian jungle during a lifetime of excursions. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Morning Marañon River Excursion and Return to Lima
After breakfast, we'll take a morning cruise on one of the Marañon River smaller tributaries. We will return to the lodge for a farewell lunch. and river transfer to Iquitos for return flight and connection to final international destination in Lima (depending on flight time).
